Carnival fever hits Cartama on the Costa del Sol

LAST Saturday at Estacion de Cartama saw the celebration of Cartama Carnival. The event was a great success with the participation of hundreds of residents who came out with their most creative and fun costumes to fill the parade with joy, colour and music. Superheroes, princesses, famous characters from stories, video games, cartoons and movies, warriors and animals all toured the streets of the town. The parade concluded at the El Cruce Shopping Centre, where the traditional costume contest was held where individual prizes were awarded for the three best costumes of different categories. In addition, prizes were awarded for the best groups. On this occasion, the winners were ´La Musica’, ‘Aquaman’ and ‘Toy Story’. There was also the performance of the carnival group “Una Murga Muy Barata” which encouraged the audience with its cheerful lyrics.
