The Councillor for Education, Lola Gámez.
The Municipal School of Music and Dance of Vélez-Málaga, in Axarquía, opened 19 years ago, has constituted the first School Council of the centre, from which the first measures have been taken to improve the operation of the school, such as the creation of a job bank of teaching staff. The Councillor for Education, Lola Gámez, has announced the constitution of the School Council as “an objective set within the socialist program and with which an organ of participation and management is created, that is born in order to place order and criteria in this school” , as well as giving participation and fluency in communication between teachers, AMPA and students, and will serve to give the centre greater stability. Currently, the Municipal School of Music and Dance is the only Vélez-Málaga centre authorised by the Junta de Andalucía to teach elementary music and dance lessons. This centre welcomes more than 300 students enrolled from an early age.
