British couple’s gin company based in Malaga stamping its mark across the Costa del Sol

Bronze and gold awards: Stamping its mark across the Costa del Sol Credit: Hayes Gin

IF you’ve had a gin tonic on the Costa del Sol recently, you may well have been offered Hayes Gin. What you may not know is this new gin company, while stamping its mark across the Costa del Sol, has been started by a British couple who ditched their jobs to create Spain’s latest gin brand. Not only has this Malaga based company taken on the gin giants of Spain, but they have just won the prestigious awards for Spain at The World Gin Awards 2020.

Recently celebrated in London, the World Gin Awards received around 400 entries from around the globe, in many different categories including flavoured gins. Hayes Gin has been awarded Gold for their Mediterranean London Dry and the Bronze for their Blood Orange and Ginger flavoured gin.

It took the Hayes Gin team a year to perfect their award-winning recipes by bringing together the very best tasting, 100% all-natural ingredients to produce their small batch craft gins. In just three years, this couple has become Spain’s No.1 craft gin.

Chris, the founder of Hayes Gin told us, “We are so happy our Mediterranean London Dry has taken the gold Award for Spain. Becoming Spain’s No.1 gin is such an honour. There are some great gins in Spain, so for us to win both gold and bronze for Spain, is incredible”.
