TOURISM councillor Luis Morant recently attended the latest meeting of the Designation of Origin Wine Routes’ Regulatory Council in Alicante City on the Costa Blanca. Morant was representing Alfaz, a member of the council which introduces the public to Alicante province through the wines of Vinalopo, Marina Baja, Marina Alta and Jalon Valley areas with its La Otra Cara del Mediterraneo (The Mediterranean’s Other Face) initiative. During the meeting, members accepted Morant’s proposal, that the next assembly, scheduled for July, should be held in Alfaz at the same time as the 32nd edition of the annual Film Festival. The councillor pointed out that Council members from the different areas on the council would be introduced to Alfaz’s most relevant promotional event while the Wine Routes would provide tourists with another reason for visiting the town.
