Irish Woman in her 30s held for murder after man stabbed to death over a parking space in Dublin

Gareth Kelly, 39, was knifed in an unprovoked attack in Dublin over a parking space

A woman in her 30s was arrested on suspicion of murder and quizzed by cops at Clondalkin Garda (Irish Police) Station after Mr. Kelly was pronounced dead at the scene.

Gardai are trying to establish a motive for the killing and it is believed there was no connection between the pair, apparently, Mr. Kelly,39, was attacked and stabbed a number of times after he was trying to start his car.

His body was discovered lying between a blue Skoda Octavia and another car. The Skoda had the bonnet open and jump leads attached to the battery.

The body remained at the scene for a number of hours yesterday morning before it was taken away in an ambulance for a full post-mortem.

It’s understood Mr Kelly was from Tallaght, South Dublin, and had been staying in another house with his partner.

The private estate where the incident took place was sealed off this while Garda technical experts carried out examinations. The Skoda was also examined before it was removed.

Gardai wearing white suits entered one of the houses to investigate further.

Cops have been unable to find a connection between the man and the arrested woman and admitted they were unable to establish a motive for the killing at first.
