Marbella, Spain, Takes Measures to Prevent Dog Poisoning

PEACE OF MIND: Patch the puppy makes a pal while his owners are away.

Two dogs were poisoned earlier this month on a street in La Campana in Nueva Andalucía, Marbella. This caused dog owners in the area to react, and ask the Town Hall to take measures.

The coordinating health advisor of the Marbella City Council, Lisandro Vieytes, said this Tuesday that measures have been taken to avoid future dog poisonings, although there have been no recent reports of other dogs being poisoned in the area.

The police investigation stays open, and the City Council has “on recommendation from the police” put up posters, offering advice for how to walk pets, along with a request to pet owners to “comply with the municipal ordinance”.
