The Plenary of the Nerja corporation approved last week in extraordinary session the municipal budget for 2020, which reaches 34,713,240 euros and represents an increase of 25.21% over last year. In addition, the increase in investments and staff stands out. Investments almost tripled, going from 3.5 to 9 million. Projects include the beginning of the procedures for the development of the Huertos de Carabeo and El Playazo, as well as for the projects of the Health Centre, the reorganisation of the San Miguel and Manuel Marín street area, the acquisition of a building for municipal offices or the acquisition of the plot of the El Peso Foundation to build the Municipal Library. The expenses on goods and services also increase, highlighting the amounts allocated to school arrangements, street cleaning, lane arrangement and river beds. As a novelty, a specific consignment is created for the elderly of the municipality, endowed with 50,000 euros.
