AFTER becoming aware of a 53-year-old man living rough in La Linea de la Concepcion who was known to suffer health and addiction problems, local authorities tried to persuade him to look for help.
Despite his refusal to seek aid, the Local Police kept a watchful eye over him and after discovering that he was sleeping rough in dangerous conditions in the old covered market, action was taken to obtain reports to put before a court.
Acting in collaboration, the Local Police, Social Services, Addiction Treatment Centre and the Gaditana de Tutela Foundation explained the situation to a judge who issued a court order so that he could be transferred by ambulance to a specialist centre in Jerez de la Frontera for treatment and care.
