Although Catalunia still has relatively fewer cases in total than Madrid, the acceleration of new cases is worrying.
It is now confirmed that the coronavirus has gotten its first locally infected case in Spain.
The 62-year-old infected Andalusian man has been treated for the contagious virus at the University Hospital Virgen del Rocío in Seville since yesterday when the terrifying news broke in Andalusía. The Ministry of Health of the Junta de Andalucía has confirmed that the patient hasn’t left Spain recently, which means that he was infected locally in the country.
All other confirmed coronavirus cases in Spain had previously travelled to a risk zone country before showing symptoms of the disease, making this the first locally infected case in the country.
So far in Spain, 13 coronavirus cases have been confirmed, with the case reported in Seville yesterday, being the first one in the Andalusía region.
