CALPE’S programme for International Women’s Day begins this Sunday on March 8 with a rally in the Costa Blanca town’s Plaza Colon at 12 noon. This has been organised by Mujeres por la Igualdad de Calpe (Calpe Women for Equality) and includes a performance of Feministas Celebrando Logros (Women celebrating achievements). Next Tuesday, March 10, at 8pm in the Salon Blau at the Casa de Cultura there will be a showing of Mujeres en la Brecha (Women stand their ground), a documentary on inequality in the workplace, followed by a debate. Entrance is free but numbers are limited to the hall’s legal capacity. On Friday, March 13, between 5pm and 8pm in the Casa de Cultura, there will be a workshop- Pildoras para el emprendimiento desde la perspectiva de genero (Pills for entrepreneurship from the perspective of gender).
