VIORICA CRUDU, mother of Alina Mocanu who was murdered in the CostaBlanca town, is currently in Spain arranging to return her daughter’s body to Romania. Dutch national Arthur Karvink stabbed Alina, his 36-year-old partner, 10 times during an argument last month, later giving himself up to the Guardia Civil when her body was found in a Moraira rubbish container. The ex-marine, aged 59, is now remanded in prison. Viorica and Alina’s sister-in-law Ana Maria Mocanu travelled from their Satnoieni home not only to repatriate Alina but also to visit the Denia court. When Karvink comes to trial, the lawyer Veronica Ene will represent Viorica and Alina’s nine-year-old daughter, who lives with her grandmother in Romania, as joint plaintiff. Denia lawyer Alex Rodenkirchen will represent Alina’s 14-year-old son. Viorica thanked Teulada-Moraira’s town hall and Social Services, who are paying part of the cost of flying her daughter’s body back to Romania. “Alina was very well-loved here and everybody has been so supportive of us,” she said.
