Early Morning Explosion and Fire in Busy Street Cause Havoc in Costa del Sol Suburb Spain

THREE men were injured when a gas bottle exploded in a Marbella apartment in the early hours of this morning (Tuesday March 3) which caused a fire and damaged a number of vehicles on the road.

At the is stage it is not known what caused the canister to explode but the building was damaged and inhabitants in adjoining were initially evacuated whilst fire brigade officers accompanied by Local Police Public and Health officials  made sure it was safe to return.

Of the three injured men, one aged 42 was treated at the scene, an 80-year-old was taken to the Costa del Sol hospital and the third aged 49 was rushed to a hospital in Malaga for treatment.

The explosion took place on Calle San Antonio which is in the Divina Pastora district of Marbella.
