PALMA police police have arrested a Bulgarian man on charges of physically and psychologically abusing his partner for months.
The detention of the 32-year old followed the victim’s report to the authorities.
She claimed he had abused her on repeated occasions, putting her down and physically assaulting her.
She also told officers that he wanted her to stay at home and not go out to work, and that last summer he had gone to her place of her employment and picked a fight. She asked him to come outside and talk to her in a nearby street. Once there he urinated on her.
The National Police’s UFAM Family and Women’s Unit opened an investigation into the case and last week police identified the Bulgarian on charges of gender violence, threats and coercion.
