Yesterday, in the Super Tuesday elections, a total of 14 US states cast their votes for their favourite to take on Donald Trump in the US presidential election in November.
Michael Bloomberg, the ex-Mayor of New York, has spent hundreds of millions in advertising campaigns to try to gain momentum among the voters, but the results on Super Tuesday were much worse than expected. He now announces that he quits the presidential race.
“Three months ago I entered the presidential race to try to defeat Donald Trump. Today I quit for the same reason: to defeat Donald Trump. It’s obvious to me that if I stay in the race, that goal will be harder to achieve”, Bloomberg writes in a comment about his decision.
