According to a Google spokesperson, the event is postponed until further notice as a precautionary measure, in line with advice from organisations such as the World Health Organisation. Google firmly states that these measures are to ‘protect and prioritise’ participants’ wellbeing, and to accommodate those who may not be able to travel at this time because of Coronavirus concerns.

Extra measures, however, have been take to reduce possible risk of catching the virus for the 800 delegates that will be attending. According to the organisers, they will be taking temperatures of all attendees, recommend no physical contact and will be providing antibacterial gel sanitizer.
