The Ministry of Health in Spain’s Andalucía declares that it will hire up to 4,000 health professionals if necessary in order to contain the spread of the coronavirus and to better care for those already infected.
The Ministry will provide hospitals and health centres with the necessary staff “without sparing”
resources. These measures were announced on Wednesday by the Vice President of the Andalusian Government, Juan Marín.
A special phone number, 900 400 061, has also been set up for residents in the area, who can call in to get detailed information about the virus.
The biggest focus will be on the Malaga-Guadalhorce and Costa del Sol regions, where 70% of all Andalusian cases are concentrated.
To date, Costa del Sol has 102 confirmed cases of the deadly virus.
