BRITISH supermarket chain Morrisons has announced that it will pay its small suppliers immediately to help them during the current Coronavirus uncertainty.

The supermarket relies on a backbone of small suppliers and currently for those with an annual turnover of £100,000 (€112,000) or less payment is 14 days and for firms with a turnover between £100,000 and £1 (€1.12) million, payment is from 30 to 60 days.

All suppliers with a turnover of up to £1 million will be paid immediately but those with larger turnovers will have to wait 60 days.
