The Spanish Government Bans Cruise Ships From Entering Spanish Ports Due to the Coronavirus

THE SPANISH GOVERNMENT STOPS CRUISE SHIPS AND ALL ITALIAN SHIPS FROM ENTERING SPANISH PORTS IN THE WAKE OF THE CORONAVIRUS PANDEMIC.

The ban was approved this Thursday by the Council of Ministers, as an extreme measure to try to limit the rapid spread of the coronavirus in the country. The prohibition started at midnight today, Friday, and will be effective until March 27, with a possible extension after that.

Spain has more than 3,100 infected people confirmed, with 87 reported deaths, and has now overtaken France as the second most affected country in Europe. It is only beaten by Italy with its over 15,000 confirmed COVID-19 cases and more than 1,000 victims to date.
