France’s Secretary of State for Ecological Transition, Brune Poirson has tested positive today for the coronavirus. The cabinet announced today that the 37-year-old lady has COVID-19. This is the second case of coronavirus in the French Government. Culture Minister, Franck Riester announced on Monday night that he had tested positive. Both French politicians are not presenting with any worrying signs with Mr. Riester assuring the public that he was “well”. Politicians globally are being affected by the virus including Nadine Dorries, UK Member of Parliament and Nicola Zingaretti, Leader of the Italian Democratic Party. Brazilian President, Jair Bolsonaro is being retested early next week and Canada’s leader Justin Trudeau is currently self-isolating. He has confirmed his wife tested positive. So why are politicians falling ill with the coronavirus? Theories abound but most likely it is because they shake hands with the public and get tested quicker than us mere mortals!
