Coronavirus Pandemic: President Asks That No One Comes to the Balearic Islands in Spain in 15 Days

Today Spain has registered 2,538 more Coronavirus (COVID-19) cases in the last 24 hours, bringing the new total to 13,716.

The President of the Balearic Islands in Spain, Francina Armengol, has asked that “no one comes to the islands for the next 15 days”, due to the rapid spread of the coronavirus in the country.

She launched this proposal after having a three-hour-long video conference meeting with the President of Spain, Pedro Sánchez, and the rest of the autonomous Presidents in the country.

“It is better that visitors and tourists do not come since they will have to be locked down in the hotel,” she said shortly after the meeting had ended.

The Balearic Islands have 55 confirmed cases of COVID-19 to date.
