Costa del Sol’s Mijas announces stricter dog walking rules to comply with the Spanish lockdown rules during the coronavirus pandemic.

These are the actions that are permitted regarding taking your dog out for a walk during this time:

• Take your dog out for a short walk, only to meet your pet’s needs.
• You are not allowed to have contact with other animals or people.
• Walk your dog alone, don’t go out in groups of two or more.
• Try to walk your dog during times when as few people as possible are around.
• Bring a bottle of disinfectant with you to clean up the dog’s urine and a bag for the excrement.

If these rules are broken, you risk getting fined in the range of €500 to €2000.
