A 40 year-old man in the northern Italian region of Piedmont who was identified as ‘patient 1’ in Italy, is still testing positive for coronavirus. The test done this morning should have been the confirmation to leave the hospital and return to normal life.
The man spent a long period recovering in hospital, receiving treatment and remaining in isolation. Despite recent news articles announcing his recovery, the test this morning came back positive for coronavirus.
Although the man does not need to return to hospital, he will now have to spend further time in isolation to ensure he does not transmit the disease to others.
