Queen’s garden parties cancelled over coronavirus

The Queen’s garden parties at Buckingham Palace have been cancelled due to the coronavirus outbreak.

Five events were due to be held in London this year, but the Palace of Holyroodhouse garden party in Edinburgh, which takes place in July, will remain under review.

The garden parties, which are usually held between May and July at the London-based palace, have an average of 8000 guests at one time.

The decision comes after the government asked the nation to distant themselves from people and to not form crowds.
