Caring for the Elderly on the Island of Menorca in Spain’s Balearics

MEMBERS of the Guardia Civil on the Balearic Island of Menorca are not only acting to keep the peace but are also involved in helping nursing homes keep stocked with necessary medical supplies.

One home for elderly people in the town of Es Mercadel was firstly completely disinfected by Guardia Civil officers dressed in full isolation suits and then a few days later other officers delivered their much needed pharmaceuticals.

It is a major plank in the Guardia Civil programme to ensure that the elderly are treated with respect and are properly cared for on a 24 hour a day basis.
