A Murcia region council has successfully tried out a drone that uses a thermal camera to measure the temperature of people walking outdoors.
The authority in Mazarron volunteered its Civil Protection department to be one of the first groups in Spain to try out the heat-measuring drone, which had only previously been used in China.
The innovative equipment was supplied by the Approcess company in Alhama de Murcia.
Besides the special onboard camera, the drone also has a loudspeaker to broadcast messages in Spanish and English during the current State of Alarm.
