The Golden Retriever, Sunny, who lives in Manitou Springs in Colarado, has quickly become an essential support system for his neighbour Renee Hellman, an elderly woman who suffers from underlying illnesses and must stay at home to avoid being infected by the coronavirus.
Kareven Eveleth, Sunny’s owner, is in charge of buying all the shopping items for her neighbour, however, her dog Sunny is in charge of delivering the items to her door.
Hellmen is 65 and suffers from a chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD), a pathology which places her in the high-risk group as a complication could easily arise if the woman was to contract COVID-19.
Given the seriousness of the situation we find ourselves in, Eveleth wanted to make sure her neighbour did not have to leave the house under any circumstance, not even to go shopping so she volunteered to take care of this for her.
Whenever she needs it, Hellmen will send over the shopping list and a few hours later Sunny brings it straight to the door.
Eveleth assured ABC news, that this will routine will continue until it is safe again for Hellmen to go outside.
