WHEN the Gibraltar Port Authority received a request for help form the captain of the Liberian flagged bulk carrier Captain Tassos D due to a medical emergency on board it responded immediately.
Working in conjunction with the Gibraltar Ambulance Service and the Gibraltar College Clinic it deployed the port launch Admiral Rooke with paramedics and a doctor to board the vessel and perform the necessary checks in order to prepare the disembarkation of the ailing crew member.
It was confirmed that this crew member had no Covid-19 symptoms but all precautions and checks were made prior to the crew member being safely disembarked from vessel and transferred to St Bernard’s Hospital for further medical examination.
