SPAIN’S two biggest opposition parties, the Partido Popular and Vox, have said they will not support extending the country’s emergency legislation.
The announcement was made in parliament in Madrid today (May 6) as a debate has been taking place on approving a fourth extension of the State of Alarm until May 25.
The news was not unexpected, but Prime Minister Pedro Sanchez has enough numbers to win a vote, as he has secured the support of the centrist-Ciudadanos party and also Basque regional representatives.
