A UK judge has ruled a mother should never have taken her 11-year-old son to a Greek island to protect him from Covid-19.

The boy’s father says he was taken from London to Paros without his permission and wants judges in Greece and the UK to order he be returned home.

The case was outlined on Friday at a family court litigation in London.
The identity of the family cannot be reported.

The case was adjourned while a judge in Greece hears evidence from the mother.

The woman and child flew to her parents’ in Paros on March 20, three days before lockdown was announced.

She reportedly explained she had taken the child to keep him safe from the virus in an email  to her estranged husband’s lawyers, and said it was a temporary measure.

There have been no recorded coronavirus deaths in Paros.
