In a heated clash over the Matt Hancock’s handling of the Covid-19 health crisis, the Health Secretary Matt Hancock urged the PM to ‘give me a break’.
The bust up can be revealed as Boris Johnson prepares to address the nation this evening to outline his “roadmap” for relaxing the national lockdown.
His exit plan involves implementing a five-stage alert system to indicate the risk of infection in different parts of the country.
A Level One green alert signals life carrying on normally while a red Level Five means the NHS is in a critical condition and on the verge of being overwhelmed.
And a new slogan ‘stay alert, control the virus, save lives’ will replace advice to stay at home.
But the government will take a cautious approach after scientific advisers warned coronavirus is ‘ripping through care homes.’
