BREAKING NEWS: The whole of Spain's Costa Blanca is through to Phase 1 of Spain's de-escalation

The whole of Spain’s Costa Blanca region is now in Phase One of the country’s lockdown easing measures, though parts of Alicante Province will have to wait until Monday, May 18 before this decree comes into fruition and they can begin enjoying their new freedoms.
THIS marks a fundamental milestone to start reviving the commercial and hotel industry in the province, which was preparing to take the step a fortnight ago.
Last weekend saw a split declaration in Madrid, which meant that the Marina Baixa, Torrevieja and Orihuela health areas were given the all-clear, whilst the Alicante and Elche departments were stopped from progressing onwards from Phase 0.
In a press conference this evening held by Salvador Illa, the Minister of Health, and Fernando Simon, the Director of the Centre for Coordination of Health Alerts and Emergencies of the Ministry of Health in Spain, outlined the new provinces which have moved onto phase 1, amongst these are Granada, Malaga, Castilla la Mancha, as well as Cataluña, apart from the metropolitan area of Barcelona.
Formentera (in Baleares), La Gomera, El Hierro and La Graciosa (in Canarias) advance even further to Phase 2.
