Driver lucky to be alive on Spain’s Costa Almeria after vehicle plummets from bridge

A DRIVER is lucky to be alive after his vehicle crashed through a wall and plummeted four metres off a bridge in the village of Rioja.
A Guardia Civil patrol was quickly on the scene after a call came through reporting the accident.
They found the 41-year-old motorist immobile and semi-conscious in his car, which had ended up trapped between trees.
The officers immediately called out the emergency medical and services and the fire brigade to carefully get the driver out of the vehicle and into an ambulance so he could be rushed to the Torrecardenas hospital in Almeria City.
