101st birthday surprise for one of Costa Blanca’s oldest residents as police make unexpected call

One of Montiboli’s eldest residents celebrated her 101st birthday yesterday, and Villajoyosa Local Police ensured it was a memorable event despite lockdown.

AT 8pm, officers made their way to Doña Vicenta Pérez Aznar’s home with the customary siren salute, to surprise her with a bouquet of flowers, a cake and to wish her a happy birthday, maintaining social distancing of course.

Sharing a video of the heartwarming gestures, the police department said: “A special gift for an unparalleled person.”
