Nerja town hall’s Public Safety department moves on beach bums living illegally in the Maro area

GUARDIA CIVIL and Policia Local officers dismantled illegal camps in the Maro area, Nerja’s Public Safety councillor Francisco Arce announced.
Formal complaints were lodged against three people, all non-Spanish, and 15 settlements eradicated from the La Caleta and Barranco de Maro beaches as well as the Cuevas del Acueducto zone.
The municipal cleaning service had to clear away so much of the rubbish that had been accumulated by the wild campers that it was necessary to take it from the beach it by boat, Arce revealed.
The town hall also had to arrange for the removal of stray dogs from the area.
The councillor added that the Public Safety department would from now own step up surveillance to prevent more camps from being set up on local beaches.
