Portugal Announces a Third Week in Decline of Coronavirus Cases as the PM Proposes an Economic and Social Stabilization Program

The Prime Minister, António Costa, makes a  proposal for an economic and social stabilization program as coronavirus rates decrease for the third week.

New coronavirus infections have declined again for the third continuous week in Portugal, the total number of cases in the country is 30,788, there have been 1,330 deaths to date, which are some of the lowest figures in Europe, 17,822 have recovered from the virus.

The Prime Minister has also released details of a plan to revitalise the economy, Portugal was last week declared “Open to tourism” and already is experiencing a slow but steady stream of holidaymakers, something which the government is keen to increase.
