Lions Member on Spain’s Costa del Sol Shaves off Beard as Charity Shop re-opens

DURING the lockdown, La Cala de Mijas Lions member, David Kay, grew a beard with the aim to raise money for the Lions whilst the Charity Shop was closed.

When Malaga Province entered into Phase 2, and bars were able to re-open, David planned an evening at the Times Bar in La Cala, where he and his friends enjoyed tapas and drinks.

His beard was shaved off by Olivia Sibbles and the evening raised a grand total of €730 for the Lion’s funds.

Whilst the popular Lions Charity Shop in Calle Torremolinos has been closed during the pandemic the Lions funds have been depleted but they have still been able to give financial help to deserving causes throughout the area.

Now after the restrictions have been lifted, the shop has undergone a complete clean and refurbishment and it will re-open at 11am on Monday June 15 and from then on will welcome shoppers Monday to Saturday 11am to 3pm.

More information about becoming a Lion and just to see all that they do is available on their web www.e-clubhouse.org/sites/mijaslacala.
