Skeletons unearthed Credit: Que esta pasando San Pedro
AS work has started on completely renovating the old La Fonda Hotel in Marbella Old Town, builders have made some grisly discoveries.
A number of skeletons have been uncovered in the foundations of the building which it is understood was originally the site of a convent.
Whilst examination of the bones is taking place, it is assumed that there is no suggestion of recent foul play and one theory is that those who died in religious orders of the time were buried there.
Alternatively, there could be a more recent and less palatable explanation going back to the 1930s.
