“THE outbreaks that have recently occurred in Malaga, Granada and Algeciras are now under control,” stated Moreno today. Thanks to the “region’s tracker system, the people who had the virus have been located quickly, and PCR tests have been performed on everyone involved”, explained Moreno. “Also anyone they have had contact with has also been quarantined. We have about 100 people now quarantined and monitored, so everything is controlled for now.”
However, Moreno also pointed out that “total security does not exist – neither here nor anywhere in the world”. He therefore urged the public to take responsibility to prevent the risk of Covid-19 contagion. “We all have to assume the challenge and individual responsibility of protecting ourselves and our loved ones – from the youngest to the oldest,” he added.
Today’s announcement from Moreno, reiterates yesterday’s message from Malaga’s Mayor Francisco de la Torre: “Malaga is a safe destination for all tourists” because health and safety measures have been “reinforced” to protect them during their stay on the Costa del Sol.
