AN investment of more than €500,000 is giving one of the main entrance roads to Carboneras a complete makeover, the council has promised.
Carboneras Mayor Jose Luis Amerigo Fernandez and Town Planning councillor Pedro Lopez went along this week to see how works on the Avenida de Garrucha are going.
The Mayor said the busy road will be utterly transformed into a “much nicer space, also for pedestrians.”

The project, works on which got going in June, includes a new roundabout, pavement, urban furniture and lighting and the creation of parking spaces.
Carboneras council is contributing some €172,000 to the project, while the rest is being financed by the Almeria Provincial Council.
The works are expected to be completed within a maximum of eight months.
