The Guardia Civil and National Police on the Costa del Sol have arrested 18 people who were linked to a dangerous and international drug trafficking ring operating from Malaga.

In this operation, security forces seized over 400 kilos of hashish, weapons, various luxury cars and around €220,000 in cash.

The international criminals would transport drugs from Morocco to France via the Costa del Sol.

The investigation was launched in Costa Blanca’s Alicante around mid-April in 2020, during the state of alarm.

The distributors would purchase the illicit drugs from Morocco and send them to two different locations, one in Estepona and another in Benahavís.

The culprits involved were classified as “highly dangerous” individuals which made the operation substantially harder to complete. The criminals were of Moroccan, Indian and French nationality.

Thanks to this investigation police have dismantled a narcotrafficking network with profits of up to hundreds and thousands of euros
