A star-studded show goes on as Javea Players overcome C0vid-19 restrictions.

THE Players’ Summer Show ‘Master of the Musical’ – slightly later than originally scheduled – will be a tribute to Andrew Lloyd Webber at the Casa de Cultura from July 27 to August 1.

While there will be fewer performers than originally planned due to the difficulty of distance rehearsing and getting the technical team together during lockdown, the Players assure that “won’t detract from the magic that is Andrew Lloyd Webber’s musical prowess”.

Press officer, Gillian Ashworth, said: “He seems to have led a charmed life with so much fairy dust producing one unforgettable show after another, aided of course by Tim Rice’s wonderful lyrics.

“You will be entertained by six singers, led by Roger Brown who dreamt up the idea – and yes, Joseph and the Technicoloured Dreamcoat will feature.”

But she urged: “Please don’t get carried away and sing along with the performers as that can be off-putting, especially if you’re not pitch perfect!”

Correct social distancing will be observed both during dinner and inside the concert hall, so it is advisable to book tickets now as seats are therefore limited.

Tickets are now on sale at €19.50 for a tapas meal and the show.
