MONTGO GOLF SOCIETY had to return to Nova Oliva after their first attempt was rained off. That was disappointing for all, but the second attempt saw warm and sunny weather to welcome the 15 players. That day’s Magic Three competition was sponsored by George Braddick who, unfortunately for him, came joint first with Terry Moore, so there were no prizes for the sponsor. George also gave some special prizes, one of which went to the person who came last or, as it’s politely called, the strongest player. The next Montgo Golf Society outing was a Stableford competition for the Founder’s Day Trophy. This was sponsored by Russ Peters who could not be present as he is not in Spain, along with many Montgo members, owing to Covid-19. Despite extreme temperatures and humidity there were some particularly good scores, as the winner Geoff Willcock had 40 points. There was only one tow, on the 16th by Geoff. It was also good to see Neil Cuming who joined the players for the presentation. He has been receiving chemotherapy in recent months but looked very well.
