MONTGO GOLF SOCIETY recently played a Stableford competition for the Mojo Cup.
This is sponsored by one of the society’s founder members, John Costigan, who now resides in the UK.   There was a relatively small field, mainly due to members not being in Spain, and Alan Lowans was the winner with an excellent 40 points.
The weather was still extremely hot and humid, but the Oliva Nova course was holding up well.
Montgo Golf Society’s previous outing, three days earlier for the Team Accumulator, was also a great day for playing, with 28 players turning out although it was very warm. Buggies were an advantage and walking reserved for the very fit.
The course was in superb condition although the greens are still a little slower than they could be although that didn’t stop the winning team from
scoring 111 points, a good result on such a hot day.
Pego Golf Society meets every Tuesday at Oliva Nova golf club and readers who would like to play or join the society should email Penny Barden at  pegohandicapsec@gmail.com or contact the Pego Golf Society website.
