The Councillor for the Environment, Dámaso Aparicio, reported that two new double charging points for electric vehicles are to be installed in Orihuela. THESE new stations have been subsidised by the Valencian Institute of Business Competitiveness (IVACE) with works totalling €20,753.00. The IVACE have granted €16,602.40, with the rest being made up of a municipal contribution. As Aparicio has reported, “one of the electric charging points will be installed in El Palmeral, more specifically in the Casa de los Verdú, and the other will be located in the vicinity of the Orihuela City Council car park.” “Orihuela is the city in the province with the most recharging points, so we want to continue promoting sustainability and environmentally friendly transport, which implies a reduction in Co2 emissions”, explained the Mayor, who has also stressed the need to “make new vehicle recharging points available on public roads so that they can use them free of charge”.
