Laughing gas confiscated from previous arrests

THE National Police have arrested a young man in Torremolinos , aged 21 years and of Dutch nationality, for carrying more than 20 litres of nitrous oxide in his vehicle to allegedly consume at a party he was due to attend.

The events occurred on the night of Friday, August 21, when officers were conducting a control of people, and vehicles, to prevent criminal acts.

During the evening one officer proceeded to stop a car with foreign registration, identifying its driver and inspecting the interior.

Five bottles of nitrous oxide were found in the trunk – containing 21.1 litres of gas, along with 400 balloons.

A total of €10,990 in cash and a knife was also confiscated, as reported by the National Police.

The officers questioned the young man who confessed that the “laughing gas” was for them to consume at a party he was going to.

The suspect was arrested for his alleged involvement in a crime against public health.
