Improvements to public spaces and sports facilities is top of the priority list in Murcia, according to the mayor. THREE new areas incorporating multi-sports courts, with football goals and basketball nets, will be a welcomed addition the Murcian district of El Palmar. The city council, in a project that have been promoted by the Municipal Board, has allocated a cash injection of €55,322 towards these new sports areas, an action that will directly benefit the 24,400 residents of El Palmar. The mayor, José Ballesta, stated, “Improving public spaces in the neighbourhoods and districts of Murcia is a priority for the City Council.” The new areas are located in La Paz Park and the gardens of Gabriel Luján Caballero and Cronista Carlos Valcárcel streets.
