A statement released by the mayor of Albolote has encouraged residents of the town to enter a state of voluntary confinement to reduce the spread of the Covid-19 virus.

RESIDENTS are being asked to limited their travel and general mobility over the next 14 days following the results of data collected from PCR tests in the municipality, and at the request of local health authorities.

Salustiano Ureña, the mayor of the small town located in Granada, has asked its residents to limit social contact as much as possible, limit travel to essential trips only and to follow mandatory mask laws and government recommended sanitary measures.

The city council will be closely monitoring the capacities of municipal buildings and have cancelled all meetings and activities that had previously been scheduled to take place in them.

The suggestion by the mayor that Albolote residents enter confinement voluntarily will hopefully stop the spread of the virus and protect the town.
