ANNUAL TASK: Clearing Albir drains, ready for rain Photo credit: Alfaz town hall
HIDRAQUA, Alfaz’s domestic water and main drainage concessionary, is clearing the town’s storm drains ready for autumn downpours. Operatives are removing leaves, silt, litter and anything else that could prevent the storm drains from channelling the random cloudbursts that are guaranteed to fall each year, even in drought periods. Cleaning the drains in this way is carried out each year, explained Alfaz’s Urban Development councillor Toni Such and his counterpart in Technical Services, Oscar Perez. Priority is given to the zones most likely to be affected by heavy rain including Albir’s beach area, the town centre and the Jardin de Alfaz, San Rafael and Belmonte Urbanisations.
