MODERNISATION: Alfaz included in Line 9 modifications Photo credit: Alfaz town hall
REGIONAL rail operator FGV has finished lowering the platforms at Alfaz station which reopens to the public on October 6. Work, which began last July, has been necessary to accommodate the new dual electro-diesel lines which will cover Line 9 between Benidorm and Denia. Meanwhile, a temporary platform has been installed in front of the new structure so that passengers can continue to board the existing trains until the mammoth modernisation project is completed next year.
