Woman strangled pregnant woman then cut baby from her womb

A woman who strangled a pregnant woman then cut her baby from her womb will be executed in December.

Lisa Montgomery, 43, was sentenced to death in 2007 for the murder of pregnant mother Bobbie Jo Stinnett, 23 in 2004. Montgomery will become the first female federal prisoner to be executed in 70 years.

Montgomery met her victim in a chat room called ‘Ratter Chatter’.

Montgomery pretended to be pregnant, and she and Stinnett, who was eight months pregnant, became friendly in the chat room and via email. They agreed to meet in Stinnett’s home on December 16th 2004.

When she arrived, Montgomery strangled Stinnett with a rope and cut the baby from her womb using a carving knife.

Miraculously, the baby survived. Victoria Jo Stinnett is now 16 years old.

Montgomery’s execution will be the eight this year after the Trump administration began advancing executions in the summer.

Montgomery will be executed by lethal injection at US Penitentiary Terre Haute, Indiana, the Department of Justice said in a statement Friday.
